Abstract
In this paper, a tool chain is presented that allows flexible, CAE-based validation of various vehicle attributes and vehicle functions. In particular, our concept covers the usage variability, road and environmental data, vehicle behavior and sensors. The starting point is the selection of representative test routes with regard to topography, climatic, socio-economic and road network characteristics. Using laser scanning, a realistic image of the test environment can then be created in the form of a 3D point cloud (REDAR). After classification of data and removal of artefacts this artificial environment becomes a major building block for further simulations. Further elements are CAE vehicle models, models of existing sensors for recording the vehicle environment and Models of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). In addition to the offline simulation in the computer, interactive simulation scenarios with a human driver can also be implemented in conjunction with the robot-based driving simulator RODOS.
