Title

Impact of HVDC offshore system integration on power network stability

Abstract
In this paper first findings from the German BMU (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety) financed SeaSecure research project are presented. The aim of this project is the optimal usage of a multiterminal HVDC offshore network while maintaining the highest possible power system stability of the AC network. The focus is first on the synchronous measurement in DC networks and second on the realization of central control strategies (master power controller). The construction of a down-scaled hardware model of the VSC HVDC link supports the validation of the control strategies found with software simulations.
