Centerline slope-based approach for rotational motion estimation of ship targets for ISAR
This paper deals with the problem of rotational motion estimation of ship targets in inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR). For this purpose a centerline slope-based technique is investigated. The evaluation of the ship centerline is provided by means of a simple and robust method through a singular value decomposition (SVD) approach. The performance of the proposed algorithm is analyzed in different rotational motion conditions as sinusoidal yaw, pitch and roll rotation and real angular values obtained from motion measurements on a cooperative target.
