Title

Retention of alcoholic, carboxylic and epoxy groups by polymerisation of the respective precursors in pulsed glow discharges

Abstract
Plasma polymerisation of acrylic acid, allyl alcohol and glycidyl methacrylate was carried out in both continuous and pulsed rf discharges to examine the influence of pulsed power input on the retention of the functional groups of these monomers. From ESCA and FT-IR spectra it can be seen that under adequate conditions of power and duty cycle the functional groups of the monomers are retained.
