Optimized Capacity Adjustment for a Cost-effective Fulfilment of Customer Requirements under a Manufacturing on Demand Strategy
Abstract
Companies gaining ground despite the impact of turbulent buyer's markets and a strongly fluctuating order entry are those, in particular, that are able to adapt their capacity to quantitative and qualitative capacity requirements. This paper presents a scheme to flexibly model the tasks of capacity adjustment, while availing itself of optimization systems to pursue different goals at the same time.
