Title

Environmental life cycle responsibility for technical products

Other Title
Producteurs responsables du cycle de vie environmental des produits techniques
Abstract
A judgement of the environmental acceptability of a product or a technology must include all phases of its life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials to the disposal of waste. The environmentally compatible design and production of a product is therefore the crucial step towards protecting the environment because it results in a higher quality, reliability and longer service life, and thereby reduces the consumption of energy, raw materials and the production of waste.
