Micro-RNA-based diagnosis of tuberculosis

The present invention pertains to diagnostic methods for the detection of tuberculosis infection based on the differential expression of micro RNAs (miR) in the blood of a subject to be diagnosed. The invention further provides methods that allow for a differentiation of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) from active tuberculosis, based on the differential expression of a set of miR in the blood of subjects to be diagnosed. The invention provides also kits for performing the diagnostic methods as described.
