Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Erzeugen eines Auftrags eines pastösen und/oder flüssigen Mediums auf einer Kantenfläche eines Bauteils. Die Vorrichtung umfasst ein Mittel zum Leiten des Mediums zur Kantenfläche, Mittel zum automatischen Führen der Vorrichtung entlang der Kantenfläche und Mittel zum Begrenzen des Auftrags derart, dass das Medium im Wesentlichen die gesamte Breite der Kantenfläche bedeckt. Weiterhin betrifft die Erfindung ein Verfahren zum Herstellen eines in Höhe und Breite vorgegebenen Auftrags eines pastösen und/oder flüssigen Mediums sowie ein Bauteil mit einem Auftrag sowie einen Auftrag zum Schutz der Kantenfläche eines Bauteils.
