Verfahren zum Entfernen von Nierensteinfragmenten

Beschrieben werden in erster Linie gelbildende Systeme, bestehend aus oder umfassend eine Zusammensetzung (A), enthaltend ein oder mehrere kationisch vernetzbare Polymere, und eine Zusammensetzung (B), enthaltend ein oder mehrere Vernetzungsmittel zum Vernetzen des bzw. der kationisch vernetzbaren Polymere, zur Anwendung in einem Verfahren zum Entfernen von Nierensteinen und/oder Nierensteinfragmenten, aus einem Bereich einer Niere, der zu entfernende Nierensteine und/oder Nierensteinfragmente enthält, mit folgenden Schritten:; (i) Bereitstellen der Zusammensetzungen (A) und (B), (ii) Einbringen der Zusammensetzungen (A) und (B) in einen Bereich der Niere, der zu entfernende Nierensteine und/oder Nierensteinfragmente enthält, unter Bedingungen, die bei Kontakt der Zusammensetzung (A) mit der Zusammensetzung (B) eine Vernetzung des bzw. der kationisch vernetzbaren Polymere ermöglichen, so dass ein vernetztes Gel entsteht, das die zu entfernenden Nierensteine und/oder Nierensteinfragmente teilweise oder vollständig umschliesst, (iii) Entfernen des vernetzten Gels samt der davon umschlossenen Nierensteine und/oder Nierensteinfragmente aus der Niere.

Described primarily are gel-forming systems consisting of or comprising a composition (A), comprising one or more cationically crosslinkable polymers, and a composition (B), comprising one or more crosslinking agents for crosslinking the cationically crosslinkable polymer(s), for use in a method for removing urinary calculi and/or fragments thereof, more particularly kidney stones and/or fragments thereof, from a region of the urinary tract, more particularly a kidney, that contains urinary calculi and/or fragments thereof, more particularly kidney stones and/or fragments thereof, that are to be removed, comprising the following steps: (i) providing the compositions (A) and (B), (ii) introducing the compositions (A) and (B) into a region of the urinary tract, more particularly the kidney, that contains urinary calculi and/or fragments thereof, more particularly kidney stones and/or fragments thereof, that are to be removed, under conditions enabling crosslinking of the cationically crosslinkable polymer(s) on contact between compositions (A) and (B), to form a crosslinked gel that partly or fully surrounds the urinary calculi and/or fragments thereof, more particularly kidney stones and/or fragments thereof, that are to be removed, (iii) removing the crosslinked gel together with the urinary calculi and/or fragments thereof, more particularly kidney stones and/or fragments thereof, that are surrounded with it from the urinary tract, more particularly the kidney.
