NOVELTY - The piezoelectric vibrator has a piezoelectric substrate (1) with first (2) and second electrodes on first and opposing second surfaces. The first surface has an electrode-free edge surface on which is mounted a component (9) with temperature dependent properties which is electrically connected to at least one of the electrodes via a connector. USE - E.g. for use as an ultrasonic transducer, e.g. for level and throughput measurement. ADVANTAGE - Enables simple measurement of temperature directly at the acoustic measurement point.
