The device for separating stacked bending parts (5), in particular textiles, operates according to the pneumatic principle which is combined with an automatic clamping of the part (5) raised by vacuum or of its raised area (13). A separating and gripper unit (12) is aligned opposite the upper side (10) of the stack (4) with the parts (5) both in height and in the longitudinal direction. By blowing the upper side of the top part (5), the latter or its area (13) is raised and is then retained by means of the gripper device (20). A monitoring device, e.g. a pressure measuring device (43), determines whether one part or several parts are retained in the gripper device (20). If only a single part (5) is retained correctly, the following process steps take place in that, for example, the gripped part (5) is removed from the stack or the areas still lying are raised using a separating element (39).
