Title

Method for the climate-independent determination of the solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC; g-value) of transparent façade and membrane constructions from in situ measurements

Abstract
The measurement of the energetic properties of transparent façade and membrane components under in situ conditions in real exposure to weathering naturally comes without stable steady-state conditions. To consider the transient use of the thermal capacities of a test facility, methods of time series analysis are compiled into one easy-to-use method. This paper presents this new method using the example of the Calorimetric Façade and Rooftop Test Facility of the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IBP). In case this method is to be used on the measurement data of a different test facility, an adaption of the method is required. The second part of this paper illustrates this adaption for a specific hardware. A validation using different known constructions shows the improvement achieved by using this new method and confirms its repeatability.
