Synthesis of Porous Thin Films as Silicon Anodes for Lithium-Ion Batteries

Currently, there is an ongoing need for small, efficient and cheap autarkic power supplies with sufficient cycle stability for electric vehicles as well as for transportable electronics (smartphones, laptops and wearable devices). Lithium-ion batteries are well established, but they still offer a high potential for improvements concerning high energy, low self-discharge properties and long lifetime.
