Today's most heterogeneous software tool environments and the rising number of different systems engineering methods and processes lead to the need for well-matched tools. A Reference Technology Platform (RTP), like the ARTEMIS CESAR RTP, shall provide a complete systems engineering environment with a set of management or engineering methods and processes, as well as engineering tools. The integration and interconnection of tools is needed in order to support collaboration between all relevant business processes of an enterprise for example interactions with customers, suppliers and partners. Furthermore, the interoperability aspect between tools integrated in such a platform is getting more and more crucial for successful and efficient product engineering.
