Title

Fluorocarbon nano coatings for specific surface functionalization

Abstract
New materials and composites are increasingly gaining significance in our high-tech society. The development of innovative products is an indispensable need in order to effectively strengthen market positions, also from small and medium-size companies. This is particularly necessary due to the rising competition and in contrast with competitors. Often the bulk of a material has already achieved a high level of design regarding e.g. temperature stability, elasticity, hardness, and processing possibilities. However, the characteristics of the interface and/or of the surfaces of the products are often not yet optimally adapted to their respective application and thus further optimization is needed. Much potential is to be found in the purposeful chemical/physical functionalization of the surfaces, omitting changes of the macroscopic bulk material characteristics.
