Coronabehandlung von Polymerfolien

Treating polymer foils with corona discharges improves the surface energy and as sures wettability and adhesion. The influence of environmental conditions (temperature, moisture) to the effectuality of corona treatment on polyethylene foils was investigated concerning chemical and morphological surface modifications by means of contact angle measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy as well as by in situ plasma diagnostic done by optical emission spectroscopy. The optical emission spectroscopy is discussed as a method to analyse the vapor phase processes and as a possibility for on line controlling the corona treatment.
