Novel concept for all-optical clock recovery from NRZ format PRBS data streams

Synchronization of a self-pulsating phaseCOMB-laser to NRZ data signals is demonstrated for the first time. The clock signal extracted from 40 Gb/s PRBS stream shows a good timing stability in a wide input power range.
