Experimental Evaluation and Analysis of Switching Losses for an Active Snubber Cell for High-Power Interleaved Boost Converters

Abstract
This paper presents an experimental evaluation of an Active Snubber Cell (ASC), developed to reduce switching losses for a PV boost converter with a nominal output power of 50 kW. The presented evaluation compares a conventional hard-switching boost converter with an ASC boost converter, focusing on the effects of the ASC on the main switch as well as a comparison of the overall losses with and without the ASC. The reported findings are based on Double Pulse Tests (DPT) measurements.
