Title

Investigation of plasma-electrolytic polishing (PeP) process initiation

Abstract
Plasma electrolytic Polishing (PeP) is an innovative surface treatment solution with the goal of producing very smooth, high-gloss surfaces with improved corrosion resistance [1,2]. It is associated to the group of plasma electrolytic processes and often described as a special case of anodic dissolution [3,4]. PeP is primarily determined by the dissolution of the anode (etching / polishing) and plasma-chemical reactions which are still part of ongoing research.
