Title
GreenAcoustics: Integration of sustainability indicators in room acoustic designs
Abstract
The integration of environmental impacts into acoustic planning tools enables the combined consideration of room acoustic and ecological aspects in the context of room acoustic planning. The aim is to promote sustainable and climate-friendly solutions in the construction industry by linking life cycle-related environmental impacts and acoustic parameters. Users can now obtain direct life cycle assessment results in addition to acoustic designs. In this presentation, results from sample rooms equipped with classic and environmentally friendly absorbers will be presented. The acoustic planning was carried out using the reverberate software, which takes into account absorber distribution and room shapes in rectangular rooms. The environmental impact, represented by the contribution to climate change, was taken from environmental product declarations and the Ökobaudat database. The reverberation times and the environmental impact of various absorber concepts were comprehensively evaluated and analysed in order to achieve an optimum balance between acoustic performance and environmental compatibility.
