Noise considerations for a 64x8 pixel CMOS time of flight range sensor

Abstract
Noise analysis for a 64x8 pixel 3-D CMOS image sensor based on the time-of-flight (TOF) principle for car safety applications is presented. Due to low noise equivalent power (NEP) the sensor enables the detection of objects with a resolution of 2.2mm for 100 pulses still allowing frame rates higher than 200 fps.
