Wideband bipolar multiplier IC with high dynamic range for use in coherent optical receivers

Abstract
A novel silicon bipolar multiplier IC with low input power requirements was implemented in a 560 Mbit/s DPSK demodulator of a phase-diversity receiver. Error-free detection was achieved over a dynamic range of 25 dB.
