Enriching e-learning contents for architecture in the MACE project - activities and outlook

Today, learning object repositories for architectural contents are distributed over several European countries. Having been designed and implemented independently, sophisticated interchange of and access to learning objects is impossible. The valuable information contained therein is broken into pieces, time-consuming and expensive to obtain, and cannot be used to its full potential. MACE overcomes these issues by building a metadata knowledge base on top of the various repositories. It links all the learning objects' metadata on a semantical level and provides premium search and browsing interfaces to its users. Learning objects can then be easily located and accessed in a uniform way; hence existing rifts between contents from different repositories are eliminated.
