Title

Die Spannungsverteilungen um ein stufenfoermiges Implantat im Modellversuch und im Vergleich zu einfachen Grundformen

Abstract
The distribution of stress in the neighborhood of a cylindrical and a conical implant model was determined in comparable model experiments, and the results compared with those for a staged implant. Because of its form and the realistic assumption of pure growth in terms of form, stress is more equally distributed and there are fewer peaks of excessive stress with this type of implant than with both of the basic models. If, however, complete growth in terms of force is presumed and, at the same time, the inhomogeneous cortical-spongy structure of the jaw is considered, additional peaks of excessive stress are produced which can lead to a biomechanically unfavorable situation.
