Advanced transparent insulation materials
Abstract
The newest transparent insulation (TI) materials, plastic capillaries with improved temperature stability up to 160 degrees C, and glass capillaries with superior optical performance, make potential TI applications more interesting: High temperature collectors for process heat generation, and daylighting systems. The paper presents the thermal and optical properties of these new materials and provides data to assess their suitability for daylighting.
