Abstract
Robot vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers are already commercially available. Yet, versatile and universal robots as often subject to science fiction stories seem to be too complex to build and too less understood by scientists to build sellable products. Therefore, we propose an intermediate step, the Combibot that may serve as a transition to more complex robot products and as a mediation tool between science and commerce.
