Technologies for the Automated Fiber Metal Laminates Production

New production technologies are increasing the degree of automation of fiber metal laminate manufacture for aircraft fuselages. The Fraunhofer Institutes IFAM and IWS present cutting and pre-treatment processes based on lasers, new coil anodization processes, and processes for adhesive film placement as well as stringer integration using collaborating robots.
