To optimize the process of CAD/CAM-production technology the costs and benefits of different alternatives have to be checked. The situation and the objectives of the company have to be considered as well as the "state of the art", especially of CAD/CAM-Interfaces. Important aspects therefore are: Strategic and operational goals, organizational-technical interdependencies, the manufactoring technology, the parts and the mix of the parts and differencies between typical types of production (batch sizes, production programmes).
