Title
Optoelectronic simulation of GaAs solar cells with angularly selective filters
Abstract
We discuss the influence of angularly selective filters on thin film gallium arsenide solar cells. For this reason, the detailed balance model was refined to fit our needs with respect to Auger recombination, reflection, transmission, and realistic absorption. For calculating real systems, an approach was made to include optical effects of angularly selective filters into electron-hole dynamic equations implemented in PC1D, a one dimensional solar cell calculation tool. With this approach, we find a relative Voc increase of 5% for an idealized 100nm GaAs cell, including Auger recombination.
