Title

High precision, fast and flexible calibration of robots and large multi-axis machine tools

Abstract
The precise and detailed metrological axis system calibration of robots and large machine tools still requires the utilization of several different measurement instruments and causes an uneconomic machine downtime about several days. This paper presents an novel approach for the precise, fast and flexible calibration of robots and machine tools by enhancing a method based on the simultaneous utilization of four Lastertracer. By means of the mathematical evaluation of very accurate and high-resolution 3D position information, static, kinematic and dynamic machine behaviour can be analysed.
