Volunteering Service Engineering in Non-profit Organizations

Non-profit organizations are also affected by the digital transformation and should pursue it systematically. To this end, this paper presents and de-scribes a reference model for transformation. The "Volunteering Service Engineering" model focuses specifically on the use of digital tools with the strong involvement of volunteers. The reference model is based on the approaches of service engineering and design thinking and supports the collaborative, interactive work of volunteers. The process model was validated in a use case of volunteers at a German engineering company. This use case highlights the developed VDI app.
