Regional telematics applications in the Federal Republic of Germany

In view of the unfavourable situation as regards regional economics (frontier area, one-sided economic structure, bad communication lines, and high unemployment) the initiative of the City of Nordhorn to realize - by the aid of the Land and the Federal Government - a Technology park offering new information technologies and services of high value in the form of a Telehouse is remarkable. The border crossing orientation of this initiative and the close cooperation with Dutch institutions in the environs of Twente, being the bird biggest industrial area of Holland, is of great importance.
