Title

A contribution to sustainable development – the use of recyclates in highly loaded applications

Abstract
The sustainable transformation to achieve CO<inf>2</inf> neutrality in the economy and society is the central challenge of the next decade. Our mobility is currently undergoing a structural change in terms of drive technology, CO<inf>2</inf>-neutral production and the recycling of the necessary raw materials. The use of recycled materials requires a complex reorganisation of the usual processes, procedures and raw material sources. The fulfilment of the ELV directive is forcing the automotive industry to use recyclates even in highly stressed applications. A key challenge is how to take batch fluctuations and changed material properties into account. This article presents how the material properties of a recycled Polypropylene material with 30 % talc and 35% short glass fibres by weight differ from the same virgin material.
