Title

Sliding Motion in Breast Deformation Modeling

Abstract
Breast cancer treatment is based on radiological images. However, the positioning of the patient when these images are taken is totally di↵erent to the positioning in the surgical procedure. Therefore, tumor localization within the surgical procedure is still a challenge. By introducing a method to automatically deform MR images from acquisition to surgical positioning, we can assists surgeons in this task by providing 3D visualizations of the tumor and other structures in advance. Since one of the technological challenges of this deformation simulation is the sliding of the breast tissue on the pectoral muscle, we specifically address it in this paper.
