Title

Microstructure and Thermal Behavior of ADN-Prills investigated by means of X-ray Diffraction. Pt.II

Abstract
The thermal behavior of ADN and its interactions with additives have been investigated by means of temperature resolved X-ray diffraction. The paper presents the second part of investigations of a series of samples, which included raw products as well as prills with additives. The investigations yielded a stability ranking and revealed destabilizing effects of copper, ammonium nitrate (eutectic) and KDN, whereas FOX-12 and particularly akardite IImay help stabilizing ADN-prills. Furthermore, detailed findings about micro scale mechanisms were achieved, such as anisotropic behavior of the crystal structure and the occurrence of a metastable phase, and mesoscale models of ADN-prills were developed.
