Title
Feasibility investigations for a decentralized vibration control concept with embedded control nodes using the filtered-x-least-mean-squares algorithm
Abstract
In many applications (Elliott et al. 1987, Riley & Bodie 1996) the Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Filtered Reference Least Mean Squares (FxLMS) Algorithm has shown a good performance in reducing vibrations by means of an active control concept. The paper shows an idea for a decentralized implementation of this algorithm by using multiple control nodes which are connected by means of a medium for data transmission between the nodes, for example a bus system. Different strategies for the implementation of the control system are compared by means of a numerical simulation of a simplified model of the engine mounting problem. A general feasibility of the concept is investigated concerning the required bandwidth of the communication medium. Finally experimental results on a laboratory test structure are shown. A first implementation of one feasible concept of the simulations is carried out on a rapid control prototyping system and is tested on a simplified active mounting setup.
