Software assisted assembly planning

In the field of assembly planning more and more use of innovative software solution is made to make sure that the developed concepts fit to the demands of the production. The procedure talking about planning of assembly systems starts with the definition of the assembly process and cycling times which are used to develop concepts for different stations and subsystems. After this ergonomic investigations can be made and the subsystems are integrated to a complete system. Finally the assembly system can be simulated for example with simple++. At IPA a machine data base for wiring technology machines is used to simplify the planning of wire harness productions.
