ECM and ECCM against broadband radar using stretch processing

Abstract
The experimental system PALES (Phased array with an electromagnetic lens and array signal processing) is built up by FGAN-FHR to validate theoretical results in electronic warfare applications. Under the constraint of broadband signals, the beamforming on receive is performed by a Rotman lens which is based on true time delays. In this paper highresolution range profiles, which can be used to classify target signals, are considered. The resulting range profiles are obtained under ECM and ECCM conditions. The properties of possible DRFM jammer signals against range profiling are discribed and appropriate countermeasures against DRFM and noise jammer signals are discussed.
