Title

Wavelength manager covering the EDFA-band and capable of controlling hundreds of transmitters

Abstract
A wavelength manager has been developed for the BBC demonstrator of the RACE project R 2065. In this project a multichannel coherent-detection transmission system has been implemented as an overlay to an existing WDM-system. The wavelength manager has an observation range of more than 40 nm and a resolution of better than 1.5 GHz. The absolute frequency accuracy was measured to be better than +or-2.5 GHz between 1525 nm and 1565 nm.
