Videotelephone with high-resolution transmission of documents

In a human factors experiment a videotelephone system offering conventional TV quality was compared with a system permitting high-resolution document transmission (according to the European proposal for an HDTV standard). The study revealed that high-resolution document transmission increases the assessed image quality as well as satisfaction with videotelephony, and allows for more effective work on documents.
