Low noise 400 fs pulse generation by monolithic semiconductor mode-locked laser and soliton pulse compression

Abstract
A 37.6GHz pulse train is generated by a monolithic semiconductor mode-locked laser and subsequent pulse compression with pulse width (FWHM) of 400fs, a peak-to-pedestal ratio of >40dB and a timing jitter of 100fs.
