Thermal degradation of piezoceramic actuators due to integration into adaptronic components by die-casting

Abstract
During the last years, a strong interest in adaptive structures arose. One key question is the integration of the active components into the passive structures. Here, the feasibility of die-casting piezoceramic stack actuators in metal parts is investigated. Experimental investigations showed that depolarisation depends on the duration time, the temperature and the heat conductance value. The findings result in a depolarisation map which in the future will enable the user to choose non-destructive casting parameters.
