Abstract
Rotationally symmetric components like printing rolls or components for offshore hydraulics are often exposed to a combined load collective of corrosion and wear. To protect such components, coatings are applied by e.g. Laser Metal Deposition or thermal spraying. Each process has specific advantages and disadvantages, which uniquely affect coating, coating system and system properties, respectively. To combine the respective advantages of both processes, the research project KERAMIK aimed at developing a coating system consisting of a laser metal deposition welded corrosion protection coating, on which a thermally sprayed wear protection coating is applied.
