Industry Strategies in New CSP Markets: North Africa

The paper identifies industry potential for local and international companies in the emerging concentrating solar power (CSP) markets in North Africa. Evaluation of first CSP projects and an industry survey support the findings how companies will enter and supply the market. The analysis covers a component specific assessment for future projects in the region. Stable markets are the key driver to attract international investment for CSP component manufacturing in the region. Thus a long-term planning perspective and the improvement of legal and administrative processes would facilitate the market growth. To create local production sites for components large local market demand is required (e.g. for mirror production).
