Title

Determination of the number of received signals and a prediction of the false alarm rate by the Bartlett test

Abstract
The knowledge of the correct number of received signals is crucial for the application of many array processing algorithms. To check the false alarm rate for the estimated number of received signals a fitting test has to be derived. The Bartlett test is a candidate for such a test function. No information about the noise power of the receiver channels is necessary to apply the Bartlett test. To determine the false alarm rate, the original Bartlett test has to be modified.
