Abstract
Stripe and hillock arrays have been manufactured from PbSe layers by a holographic technique. Interband photo-luminescence of stripes is split into up to eight subband transtion sindicating strong carrier confinement as a consequence of small effective masses in PbSe. Each subband transition is observed above a certain excitation threshold.
