Production scheduling using genetic algorithms

Based on promising results of genetic algorithm (GA) research, a modelling language for manufacturing processes is presented. This language is to help a user to formulate a production scheduling problem in a GA-independent way. Problems may be transferred automatically into the underlying GA representation. This coding is explained and related to GA operator types. Results obtained so far are presented.
