Smart factory data model: Foundation of context-aware applications for manufacturing

Abstract
The Smart Factory implements the state-of-the-art ubiquitous/pervasive computing technologies and tools. This paper presents a factory data model for implementation of the Smart Factory, as a key component for the next generation manufacturing. The specificity of our approach consists of enhancing traditional factory data models with valuable information regarding location and status of all objects existing in a factory, the so-called context-aware feature. The Smart Factory Data Model builds the base for context-aware applications and Smart Factory Manufacturing Resources.
