Title

Wirkprinzip und Anwendungsmöglichkeiten von faseroptischen Sensoren

Other Title
Operating principles and application areas of optical fibre sensors
Abstract
Rapid advances in glass fibre technology has made possible the production and use of specific fibre sensors, such as those for detection of mechanical stress in components, or for detection of toxic species. Such sensors must incorporate a protective layer and otherwise be stabilised. In other cases, their functioning is enabled by application of a special coating, as described by two examples. One particularly attractive approach has been the use of hybrid polymer coating systems (Ormocer®e) which have demonstrated an exceptional versatility.
