Title
Characterizing a formaldehyde reference source for validation of emission test chambers
Abstract
Emission test chambers are necessary to determine the emissions of wooden timber products and other consumer products. To ensure high quality performance of the chambers they need to be controlled and validated. The results of round robin tests may show significant differences and attributing the reason for that to a certain parameter (e.g. material inhomogeneity) is associated with high effort up to now. Due to that fact it is necessary to develop a defined reference source whose emissions depend on the main chamber parameters, temperature and humidity. A reference source with these characteristics and the opportunity of long-term measurements is developed in this study.
